March 2017 Team Highlights

Race season is getting underway and things finally are starting to pick up again for our compassionate crew. Here’s what our teammates got up to in March.

Joe Burns (top left) ran the Sam Costa Half Marathon, finishing first in his age group with an excellent time of 1:34:14.

Jessica Carroll (top right, center) ran the Oakland Running Festival Marathon Relay with Team Humane League.

Zach DeTine (bottom right) ran the Philly Love Run Half Marathon.

Alan Dumond (medal bottom left) came in first overall to win the Fontandango 50-miler.

Liz Garrett (left) braved the cold to join her No Meat Athlete crew for the ShamRock and Roll 5k.

Molly Glenn (center left) doubled down on the 13.1 last month, running both the NYC Half and joining her SHVP teammates just a week later for the Syracuse Half (pictured below)!

Laura Kline (center right) came in 1st female at the Naked Bavarian 20-miler!

Samantha LeBlanc (right) ran the TARC To Hale & Back 6-hour trail race. She completed 28 miles in under 6-hours in the snow, rain, and mud, finishing 2nd female. Read her race recap here.

A sort of annual tradition, a bunch of our teammates came out to represent SHVP in the Syracuse Half Marathon–and about as many came out to offer support! Fortunately for our runners, this year’s event did not include the customary blizzard of years past.

Jason Mintz (left) finished the Syracuse Half in 15th place overall with a blazing time of 1:17:17. Read his race report here.

Ellie Pell (right, left) placed 2nd female in the race, finishing with an impressive time of 1:23:00. Check out her race report for the details.

Mike Welden (right, right) finished in 1:22:27, coming in 41st overall out of more than 4600 runners.

Other SHVP’ers who showed up crush 13.1 miles include:

Suzie Jo Constantin (left, left), Molly Glenn (left, right), and Lauren Harper (right)

Emily O’Donnel (left), Jay Phillips (center), and Ian Sherlock (right)

It’s been great to see everyone getting back out there. Keep it up, team!
