Continuing on with our introductions to the team, please meet another SHVP veteran; Sheera Witt! (In the pic above Sheera is in the middle)
How long have you been vegan?
I’ve been vegan (officially forever) for 10 years. Prior to that I was vegetarian since 1997!
When did you join the team and how were you introduced to SHVP?
I was first introduced to SHVP through my fiancé Nick who was approached by Joel to join the running team. (We were visiting Strong Hearts Cafe in Syracuse at the time.) Nick mentioned to Joel that I was a runner as well and next thing I knew I was signed up for my first Ragnar race in Cape Cod (May 2016).
How many events have you run with the team?
I have run 4 Ragnar’s with the team. (Cape Cod in May 2016, Adirondacks in 2017, Pennsylvania in 2018, and Reach the Beach in 2019.) Soon it will be race number 5 when I participate for the first time at Seneca 7 this April!
Which one have you liked the most so far?
I can’t choose just one! Every single race has been an amazing experience.
What’s your favorite pre/post training meal?
I’d definitely say sweet potato and black bean burritos with guacamole and tofu sour cream.
